Michelle Van Lare Yoga School - Yoga Alliance Registered
Hatha Vinyasa Y O G A  Teacher Training
200 Hour Program Certification

A blend of Eastern Hatha Yoga
and Contemporary Vinyasa Flow

I designed this curriculum with a foundation in the
modern wisdom of Hatha Yoga as taught by my
teachers in India and Nepal, while incorporating the
innovative aspects of my western teachers to
intelligently and gracefully balance the energies
of the body.

Through sophisticated sequencing of postures and attention to breath,
we may refine our health.   Harmonizing the mind and intellect
with meditation, the complete practice results in the spiritual
experience of elevating our consciousness to higher states of awareness.

30 Hour Humanities

An in-depth study of these essential components of Yoga for contemporary life & practice:

Ethics

Take  ethics beyond how we currently define our practice and apply them to our present habits and perspectives to bring more harmony, compassion, and balance into our lives as well as into our teachings and personal Yoga and morality practices.

History

Explore yogic roots and spiritual approaches that have evolved from the cultural traditions of Hindu, Buddhist & Jaina Yoga and the 6 branches:  Bhakti, Hatha, Jñana, Karma, Raja and Tantra, and how each path offers unique methods to appeal to each individual.

Philosophy

Study the philosophical discoveries of the sages  and the ideas of contemporary schools for a clearer understanding of how Yoga has been experienced over the centuries and expand them into your own meditative practices for self-reflection.
In this 30 Hour Yoga Humanities Module, we go into the philosophical and spiritual dimensions of Yoga through meditation and theoretical practices to uplift ourselves and each other with inclusiveness on our unique paths for the benefit of our community, our global family and environment.

Participants may choose this module to expand their own personal practice, or for aspiring teachers for credits toward a 200 or 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification.  300 Hour Aspirants will be required to read an additional text (not included) and write an essay.  This module is in accordance with the Humanities segment of the Yoga Alliance training standards.

30 Hour Anatomy & Physiology

This Module is focussed on human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and functional movement, as they pertain to the understanding and teaching of Yoga
Learn the terminology used in movement-based practices.
Study the systems of the human body, including the musculoskeletal, nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular, endocrine, and lymphatic systems, with a view of the potential effects of Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation on these systems.
Learn about the body’s fascial layers and how Yoga can affect our connective tissues and influence the systems of the body through the fascia.  Deepen your knowledge of the major joints of the body — the spine, shoulder, hip and knee  joints — through joint, connective tissue and muscle anatomy, as well as the biomechanics of each individual joint.
Learn how to read and interpret research and scientific studies into Yoga, Meditation and Pranayama and other topics related to these practices.

Consider how all of the concepts and information taught in this module resonate within your own body in your Yoga and Meditation practice.
